This is a coaching/skills practice morning, with a range of short orienteering courses offered in the bush. Courses are approximately 1-1.5km long and designed to test: reading contours, direction and distance estimation and use of attack points. All welcome. Courses are especially suited to newcomers, juniors and those wanting to perfect skills needed on Easy to Moderate grade courses.

Don't forget your compass! Also available for hire. Coaching fees for the morning: $3 per member, $5 per non-member.

Water bottle, compass if you have one, clothing comfortable for exercising in the bush. Insect repellant and long pants and long-sleeved shirt recommended.
Coaching
Coaching is available between 8:30 am and 9:30 am
Afterwards
Save your newly practiced skills for the upcoming bush events at Holmes Jungle (night event on Friday 28th August, day event on Sunday 13th September) and Manton Dam (day event on Sunday October 4th) and Alice Springs Masters Games. Explore the WW2 bunkers and other relics in the National Park (alongside the road as you drive in/out).
Directions
Enter the National Park from Tiger Brennan Drive and follow the bitumen road to the grassed picnic area. Park in the carpark.
