Top End Orienteers

Enjoy the savanna and rainforests around Howard Springs Nature Reserve. Courses include a standard easy course that is 4 x 4 pram friendly or an option of a 60 minute or 90 minute score event.

In a score event the aim is to collect as many controls as possible in the allocated time. Controls are worth different point values depending on their difficulty or distance from the start location. Points are lost for every minute or part thereof that you are late returning to the finish.

Directions

Start at the Woorabinda Scout camp: Take a left turn onto Howard Springs Rd off Gunn Point Rd. Drive into the Howard Springs Nature Reserve. Take the first right turn towards the cascades and picnic area, the entrance to the scout camp is on your right- follow the driveway around to the carpark and there will be a marked walking path to the undercover start location.
